Kasumi Song
Reincarnation of Sailor Pluto: Setsuna
Nicknames: Leon, Phoenix, Plu
Gender: Female
Apparent Age: late teens, at best, she looks younger then what she is.
What “Era” do they hail from? Crystal Era, Circa the same era as Liz.
Hobbies Mechanical Shenanigans, Motorcycles, Gears, Singing, playing guitar, reading.
Bad Habits: Shy, tends not to enjoy the spot light, soft spoken, traditional, bound by rules of her own making.
Personality: Kasumi is incredibly reserved. Sometimes she speaks when she doesn’t think about what’s going to spill out from her mouth- but let’s face it, those times are rare. She bares the weight and memories of all the Plutos before her from her timeline and they weigh upon her with all their regrets, all their choices, and then her own choices, from the fact she is pretty sure her parents would find her dishonorable for being a Senshi (well.. her Dad.. Her mom would probably think it was pretty cool!)… To the fact that she’s killed her knight partner for “the good” of people- not just once… but twice.
It makes her more serious then most would be. She holds herself apart from people, afraid that if she got to close she’d be driven to use her powers for them- and not for the good of the everyone. She clings to her memories of “before” with Elizabetta and Ryan, her two closest friends and companions. Otherwise she comes off shy, reserved and in general, just a little off beat.
Appearance: Kasumi’s most arresting feature are her purple eyes- yet another gift from her maternal grandfather. Her eyes are ancient, and seem to speak of unforeseen horrors and delights all at the same time. Most people find them spooky and are grateful that she rarely meets any-one's eyes. She is on the short side, like her mother, cursed into staying as short as 5’ feet flat in her stocking feet. She isn’t even as developed as her mother- something she finds most embarrassing as she thinks her mother’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. She’s rather on the thin side, with the wiry muscles that come from constant physical activity as “Leon, and later Phoenix:”- who has a tendency never to sit still. She has her ears pierced only once, and often wears simple garnet earrings. She has long black hair that she’s grown out in her years away from Crystal Tokyo so it hits her hips.
Kasumi only dresses in real dresses, usually an inch below the knee and tries to remain as pristine clean as possible. She also is known to wear kid gloves everywhere- promoting that good girl image.
“Leon” shoves her hair up into her cap, wears nothing but overalls and plain big shirts she steals from Moto-san’s son’s old pile of clothing. She always remembers to take out her earrings and leaves them in the “safe place.” She wears big boots, and stuffs tissues into them so she can wear them without falling out of them- another gift from Moto-san’s dead son. Leon is usually always smiling, unlike Kasumi who is almost perfect at keeping her facial expressions schooled. Leon is outgoing and energetic- usually using wild arm and hand motions while she talks. She doesn’t go out of her way to tell people she’s a boy, but usually it’s their first guess- as she dresses and looks very “young boy around 10ish” in her borrowed clothing.
Phoenix is her most recent incarnation in an effort to hide herself. Where Leon might have been tracked, Phoenix the street singer and guitar player may get away with it. While she’s nothing special on guitar and she goes out of her way to adjust herself to be a mix between Leon and Kasumi- both being smiles and distant- and wearing a mix of boy and girl clothing.
Family and Close Ties:
Relationships
Please note who you are close too, parents, siblings, etc. If you live in on your own, please note how you live on your own and who you know.
Parents names: Mashimoto Song, Alive & Makato Song, Alive.
Grandparents: Shizuma Kishimoto -- Alive,Negika Kishimoto -- Alive,
Mashimoro Song -- Kasumi worshiped the ground her father walked on as a child, but now chaffs at his love and desire for work over his family life at home. In a very real way, she tends to be a bit jealous over the Princess, who, in many ways, she feels as usurped her father...
Makato Song -- Kasumi loves her mother very much. She took a bit of a bounce when she realized her mother was human- with real human fears... But then she got over it. She is very happy to know her mother doesn't mind her being independent, and in fact, seems to encourage her to be so. She doesn't know if her mother knows about "Leon" or just chooses to turn a blind eye to the escapades of her daughter...
Shizuma Kishimoto & Negika Kishimoto- Her mother's parents. Her grandfather is one of her favorite people as he has the knack for putting things together she does and- of all her family, she feels her grandfather understands her the most.
Her best friend in Tokyo was Ryan Star. They had grown up together, him the son of a scientist and her the general of the city both fathers working to protect, not just their families but the city as well. Ryan was her first ‘real’ crush… but he fell in love with another, someone she considered a sister.
Her other best friend-- no-- sister was Elizabetta. While not blood related they had grown up at the palace together. Eaten meals together, and they had been the most understanding of both of their positions.
History:
[Kasumi was born two to very special individuals in Crystal Tokyo. General M. Song, and his lady wife Makato in 3280. From a young age, Kasumi knew what was expected of her from both of her parents. She knew and understood security measures from the time she could toddle. She also knew to stay away from bad people- of which there were many, and to stay away from anyone who might try to use her to get to either of her parents. Kasumi tried very hard, for a very long time to be the perfect daughter- and she succeeded…
When she was four, one of the grandfather clocks in the family suites broke. The man who came to repair it was old, and quite smart at what he did- which is fix things. Turns out, he could fix people too. Kasumi had been fascinated by the old man, who was bent with age. She watched him, handed him tools and started following him around wherever he went around their section of the palace. Their relationship grew bit by bit as years passed. Moto-san, the old man was called, was a very old soldier who was lucky enough to also have known the king once. When Kasumi’s parents needed someone to watch her, often it was old Moto-san who would just “happen” to be available to watch her.
When she was 8 she started noticing other things about doorways- they didn’t always look right to her. And sometimes, she could see a faint outline of a woman, in a senshi fuku, all in the shadows, watching her. When she asked Moto-san about the woman after one such encounter, Moto-san told her about the legend of the sailor Senshi. Kasumi was fascinated by the stories, and often begged for more. Moto-san would tell her stories as they worked and repaired a variety of things around the palace. Moto-san also started providing her with overalls and overly large shirts from his dead-teenage son’s trunk. He had kept them as mementos of a life lost. Kasumi loved the clothes, they smelled like hard work and the odd mothballs that Moto-san kept with them. Moto-san also didn’t give her “looks” when she got dirty. He started calling her his little Leon- and her “alternative” identity was born.
She became quite adept and quick at doing her school work so she could go help Moto san. As she grew older, it would become standard for her to do more and more of the old man’s work as he grew older and older. When she was 10, Moto-san gave her access to his special room, a small once-janitor’s closet that he had converted into a small workshop. This small room became her sanctuary as she grew farther and farther apart from her busy parents and her own individual need to be someone different then “General Song’s little princess”… He already had one of ‘those’ in Elizabeta! Kasumi hardly knew what to do about the little princess- she couldn’t hate someone who didn’t have a mommy around like hers, but she didn’t like her either. There was something about Elizabeta that was just a little too familiar.
Going into her teenage years, Kasumi took on more and more responsibility for old Moto-san’s chores. Partially because she didn’t want the old man to work so hard when his hands shook so badly- but also because it became something only she could do. She could tell him back all the stories He had told her, as well as other ones she learned in the library while she worked and he sat. She was special, unique with Moto-san. She knew only she could ease his heart over the loss of his son.. and she knew, somehow, that he didn’t have much time left.
She was 12 when Moto-san died peacefully in his sleep. It was only a stroke of fate, or perhaps luck, that kept his replacement from ever being hired so far. The recent attacks by Chaos and the increased activity has meant no one has tried to deal with his replacement- not when the broken things are repaired just as neatly and simply by his “Assistant” Leon. She even still gets the small stipend of money that Moto-san made sure she’d receive- as well as Moto-san’s benefits. He had listed “Leon” as his only living kin. It gave her a small enough amount of money that was hers, and her’s alone. She used her money to buy little trinkets, better tools and small improvements to her little work space.
All that tinkering would pay off. She began to experiment outside of her home, as a mechanic and a musician. Her grades never waver, her attitude is perfect and cool as Kasumi.. And When she’s Leon or Phoneix- that she’s free- she’s independent! The only other person who knows her secret is her Grandfather. He also has her gift for tinkering and often has a new thing to show her- in private. He also knows about Leon and helps her keep what little extra money she doesn’t spend on knick knacks for her in a savings account- bribery for her silence. He insists she put something away instead of spending it on all on frivolous technology bits and pieces.
Kasumi’s worried that with the increase of chaos her father may turn his eyes inward a bit more deeply and discover her secret. Worse, her mother may notice that under her gloves she hasn’t been able to get some of the oil off her fingers.
Of course, it wasn’t until she awoken as Sailor Pluto that she realised what danger she was in as her Father’s daughter. He would never understand her duties as the Time Senshi- firm in his belief that the Senshi were nothing more than hoaxes. She tried to stay, but it soon became simply too dangerous to stay near her family without risking them into being caught up. She took on her identity as Phoenix and fled to Crystal Angeles to finish her training as sailor Pluto and help find the other Senshi. She wasn’t quite prepared for what she found though....
Kasumi’s got sins though, dark ones that still scar her down to her core- and did, until she died in battle facing an incarnation of Solaris with her fellow senshi…
Kasumi has killed. She has the blood on her hands and she knows not how to get it out. It’s haunted her, dragged her, and she couldn’t leave it behind in Tokyo when she ran from everything, and everyone she loved. When she died, it was with companions, yes, but not without the stain on her hands. It weighs on her, especially since she fears she was only repeating the doomed past of her previous incarnation of Persephone.
The Pluto Taboos!
(Note: There are a few things in the manga/anime/series about Pluto I just wanna point out.
1) She can’t do anything without her Garnet Orb, which is on top of her staff.
2) She has a set of time keys on a chain around her waist..
3) She can stop time ONLY at the price of killing herself. Period. It’s Taboo.
4) She can seal off dimensions in the Manga/Anime (She does so to Pharaoh 90)
She’s also bound to a whole crap load of rules… Like, someone should always guard the time gate. Originally, the “first” pluto for our game used reflections for taking care of it. I wanted to have Kasumi deal with it by actually going to the time gate and learning to care for it – and the mandates handed down by Queen Serenity and Sailor Saturn back in the day- by her predecessor. It’s been stated multiple times in the manga/anime that the time gate Can Not be left alone. She’s also forbidden to do a great many things, like interfere with the natural time process, tell people what’s going to happen in their futures…and in some cases, their pasts… and so forth… Regardless of ~points up~ that list, I fully intend to play Pluto the way she was created originally- which is a timeless guardian who sacrifices a great deal for the time stream. Even if she “awakens” she will be one of the last to act in a scene- after all, when death and time come a calling, it has to be serious.)

Skeleton in the Closet – 1—
Have you ever had the power, and opportunity not to condemn an entire world to die? How about the power an opportunity to save lots, and lots of people you care about? Over and over Kasumi (and her soul) have chosen a greater good over the immediate self… and over and over people have gotten hurt, and even killed because of it. It weighs her down… but worse… There are people she hurt who are reincarnated… who, if they ever put 1 and 1 together, may never forgive her for choosing something else- over them.
