Mashimoro Song
Reincarnation of Fredrick, Knight of Sol
Nicknames: Moro, General, Song
Gender: Male
Apparent Age: Early 20s
What “Era” do they hail from? Alternate Crystal Era
Hobbies: Swordfighting, Discipline, Recreational Rest
Bad Habits: Kisses the ground his father walks on, and sometime idly twirls his sword.
Personality: Song hasn't changed too much from his main universe's counterpart. That said, the young man is quite brash and emotional.. unusually emotional, with a bit of a stubborn streak. He holds tradition and formalities in high regards, however when the steaks are high he becomes quite rash. The kindness that grew onto the older man has not yet developed, leaving young Song to be more cold and calculating. That said, he is fiercely loyal to those who have honor and authority, and is a defender of the weak. He carries a weight on his shoulders of duty to his country, and will do what he can to protect them.
Appearance: The younger man has straight, flat hair that fall down his face in an almost bowl shape in a dark, black pattern. His face is a bit stiff, and looks like it never smiles. In fact, one could say his smiling face is outright creepy. He is tall but lean, and holds himself higher than he needs to. The young has an unusual dark line going down his left eye, as if it was a wound that just vanished out of the blue. His skin is of a somewhat light complexion, and he has brown eyes.
Family and Close Ties:
As a young man:
General Tekiatsu Song - Mashimoro's father and former General of the Crystal Tokyo military. He was incredibly close to his father, and followed in the man's footsteps. He was the light at the end of the tunnel of his career and he promised himself to carry on such a legacy. However, in his universe, the General was slain. Mashimoro has neither forgotten, nor forgiven, the circumstances of his father's death.
Asuna Song - Mashimoro's mother was a typical military housewife, enjoying her time as a mother more than anything else. She tried to instill a sense of wonder and kindness into her son, but could never get the boy to smile very often. She too, died near the same time as his father.
Masami Tomoyo - the Crown Prince of Crystal Tokyo, he was Song's closest childhood friend. Mashimoro has the upmost respect and honor for his father, but Masami's father was just simply "the King", nothing more. Masami on the other hand was different, a lot more down to Earth and relaxed. Unfortunately for Song, he too, has passed.
Makoto Kishimoto - Perhaps the cause of his misfortune, Makoto was another Lieutenant of a different regiment in the Crystal Tokyo military, one who Mashimoro began to get close to after meeting her only a year or so prior. When everything went to hell, Song fought hard to find her and free her from the clutches of Chaos, but failed. Her fate is also presumed dead.
History:
Mashimoro's childhood was one of fortune, but in a different sense. He was born in the Palace, raised in the Palace, and was known throughout the Palace. His father, being the General, was hardly ever gone for long periods of time, and indeed was considered the head bodyguard of the King. The young man grew up with his father figure, and saw him as the equivalent to the King himself, if not better. As a boy he would walk around the Palace, pretending that he was a soldier on a special mission for his father, and playing around with a stick that he would use as a rifle. When he found his "target" he would then use that stick as a sword. His greatest fun would be with Masami, and the two boys treated the Palace as their entire world, slipping into entrances that most of the adults wouldn't even dream of. It was fun, and something that Mashimoro thought would never end.
When he grew into his double digits, the equivalent of middle school, his father began to press more of the ideals of his family into the boy. Likewise, Masami was being done the same with his own father. The two boys were quickly finding out that they had a responsibility all to themselves about the family and the palace, and many things that were acceptable when they were younger, were now unbecoming of sons of the high ranking people in the Kingdom. Mashimoro resisted only once, and his father made a move to slap him, before stopping and saying that he was disappointed. That is all that it took for Mashimoro to rethink himself, and follow his father. The two boy would still hang out, when they both could, but now each was taken separately for their own raising. Mashimoro was quickly being taught discipline and duty, and when asked by his father what specialty he wanted, he stated sword. This was unusual, as the swords the officers carried were ceremonial in nature, and true swordsmanship was considered outdated in the era of projectile weapons. Mashimoro insisted, drawing on the idea of Tokyo's past, and his father relented, bringing in an older master of Kendo and true Samurai swordsmanship.
By his teens to late teens, Mashimoro was more competent and trained than many of the older privates in the military, and with permission from his father joined the military. He asked for no special favors, and instead proceeded to add onto his requirements in the military as he went through basic training. Upon graduation, he found himself posted at the Palace, and begged his father to reassign him to something more dangerous. It was his mother who requested him at the Palace, but his father agreed, arguing that Mashimoro should never order someone out to a position where he would never have been sent to. Mashimoro spent 3 years at the border between the city and the wilds, handling everything from ordinary police work to border security. It was upon his promotion to Warrant Officer that he was reassigned to Palace duty, and accepted it for his mother. It was at the dinner in his honor that he was not only able to reconnect with Masami, but also met Makoto, a beautiful rose if he ever saw one. She was a Lieutenant with the Special Forces division, brought in for Palace duty due to some injury she spoke of, but never elaborated on.
It was a year later, when Mashimoro was promoted again to Lieutenant, that his world crashed. He never got enough nerve to ask Makoto out yet, but he always looked for an excuse to be around her. Another state dinner for the King, the Prince, and some dignitaries. He had been seated next to Makoto and ready to try his hand when the Palace rocked with an explosion. All the military minded stood up as the surrounding guards headed towards the source of the noise. Mashimoro and Makoto both headed out to find out what was going on and saw what could only be considered an attack force of nearly impossible odds. Dozen of masked men attacked, each one wearing a white and black mask. Both the young officers took action, joining their soldiers in the battle of the Palace. Despite the seemingly inhuman strength of the attackers they were both able to fight their way to the outside, to see the inner city ablaze. Knowing the gravity of their situation, both tried to head back inside the Palace when a giant beam of light came from the ground up, uncasing the main spire of the Palace. Without warning his world turned white as the two were knocked back quite a distance. The Palace exploded, showering much of the inner city with crystal debris.
It was at this point that much of what Mashimoro can remember blurs. One clear thing was that the entire government had been crushed in a single blow, the these attackers, calling themselves Agents of Chaos, claimed themselves as the liberators of Crystal Tokyo, and its new governing body. Mashimoro was forced underground with what was left of the military, and waged a guerilla war against Chaos, who seemed to just grow in more and more power with each passing day. It was only two months later when the final tragedy struck. On a search for what was then considered masked fighters wielding similar powers against Chaos, both Makoto and Mishimoro were caught by a Chaos unit working directly under the leader, Crown Clown. The two fought the best they can, until Mashimoro was caught offguard and instead of taking him out, they overwhelmed Makoto. In front of him they tortured her, blasting her with some sort of magic until her screams died out, and she fell, seeming without energy. A final purple ball of light from her mouth was clearly visible to the man as something unlocked inside him, and he transformed. For the first time, his thoughts were centered around anger and rage, and he found himself shining with the glow of the sun itself. Mashimoro lunged at his attackers, a glowing golden sword as his weapon, as he overpowered each one in turn, slaying them all. He paused long enough to take Makoto's body, and hid away again.
With his newfound powers, Mashimoro held the fight for another couple of months, before meeting the Sailor Senshi. A change in his demeanor gave a sense of hope to himself as well as the Senshi, and they launched an attack on Crown Clown himself. It was at this point that the Knight of Sol was in his blazing glory, acting as a barrier between the Clown and the Senshi, who were handing other evils. Following an epic swordfight, the Knight had Clown in his grasp when he heard a call that sounded different, but similar at the same time. He couldn't exactly place it, but the hesitation was all that was needed. Song remembered a flash in his eye from a Chaos-tainted dagger, followed by a green blast, and then darkness. His next memories would be in the Cauldron.
